Truly A Labor Of Love
Designed and thrown on the potters wheel by Will, every New York Stoneware pot is then trimmed, handled and stamped by our small team of skilled artisans. After trimming, each pot is bisqued, waxed, slipped and hand-glazed. Our glazes are formulated and mixed in studio and, piece by piece, it is applied either by hand-dipping or spraying.
We hope that the user will appreciate the craft and the process and the maker behind each and every piece.
Our Materials
Our beloved red clay is specially formulated to create a durable, dishwasher, microwave and oven-safe pot that produces the most pleasing warm color.
Stable glazes are boring. Our glazes and the colors we achieve are the result of the painstaingingly accurate process of measurements and testing which allows us to use glazes that have depth, interest and subtle variations.
We apply a white clay slip before we glaze to achieve the color response and the depth and character which you do not often find (because other potters may value their sanity). We value beauty over expediency and have not ever sacrificed it for total efficiency.
